‍Here are the Discord updates from October 22, 2026. You can also find the most recent updates in Discord under Settings > More > What's New.

Check it out! Yoav Landau and Sam Haft of The Living Tombstone break down how they turned the Discord ringtone into a Halloween remix and full-length single.

• The Halloween ringtone remix is live in the Discord app until November 2.
• "Don't Hang Up the Call" music video by The Living Tombstone.

Refresh your client for a spooky scary surprise from The Living Tombstone!

• Available now until Nov 2. Miss the classic sounds? Switch back anytime in the settings. Learn more here.
• Need your Halloween ringtone fix on loop? We got you.
• Lastly, to celebrate the launch of this amazing ringtone - The Living Tombstone will be doing a Q&A in their Discord server today at 11:00:00 PM. Head over there if you want to participate! https://discord.gg/vptkYwR3G

Nitro members can now customize their typing indicator, a feature currently in Beta. Instead of the usual "is typing...", you can pick a few emojis, an animation, and a phrase that shows up for everyone in the chat while you type.

We want to add more phrases, and we'd love your ideas! To name a few new options we’re considering: howling, cooking, screaming, purring

What else should we add? Anything is possible (well, almost anything).

*Here's the Discord Changelog from September 25, 2026, so you can stay informed on what's new in recent app updates! *

Hi everyone,

Today we're announcing the rollout of our new age assurance options, which you can read about here. Thanks to some changes we've made, most of you will not have to take any action at all.

Here's the TL;DR:

• Since our last post about teen safety, we've had to launch age assurance solutions in more places, including Texas and Brazil. Laws requiring age assurance are expanding around the world. Rather than waiting to be told how to do it, we're launching our own privacy-preserving approach: one that reflects your feedback and which means more than 90% of you won't be asked to confirm your age.
• You can check your age group status at User Settings > Account Status. We've estimated your age group automatically from account signals like how long your account has existed. We don't look at your messages, calls, or other content. We're launching this over the course of this week, so it may take a few days to reach your account.
• If you're in the adult age group (18+), nothing changes. If you're in the teen age group (13-17), you can keep messaging friends, joining voice calls, and participating in non-age-restricted servers, but with additional safety protections that block age-restricted content, spaces, and settings. Otherwise, Discord works the same.

We've got some more info in the image below, and if you want all the details you can read the full announcement here.
